Experience Santorini
A world renown & iconic destination
The only inhabitedCaldera in the world
Santorini, world-renowned for its breathtaking views and volcanic beauty, is a destination like no other. Nestled on this iconic island is Kamari, a charming seaside village known for its black sand beach, relaxed atmosphere, and vibrant local life — the perfect place to enjoy the more laid-back side of Santorini.
Discover Santorini
Santorini is one of those places that really stays with you. The views, the light, the colors — they’re something special. From the whitewashed villages hanging over the cliffs to the black and red beaches and the deep blue sea, the island feels like it was made to be explored slowly.
Of course, Santorini is famous around the world for its caldera, sunsets, and charming towns like Oia and Fira — and they’re absolutely worth seeing. But there’s also another side to the island: quiet villages, family-run tavernas, walking paths, local vineyards, and kind people who are proud of where they live.
I was born and raised here in Kamari, and even after all these years, I still find new things to love about the island. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been before, there’s always something to discover.
Visit the Caldera
The caldera view — with its steep cliffs and whitewashed villages hanging over the sea — is what Santorini is known for. You can visit Fira, Imerovigli, and Oia to enjoy the views, shop, walk along the paths, or watch the sunset.
Watch the Sunset in Oia
Oia is famous for its sunsets — and for good reason. People come from all over the world to see the sky turn orange and pink over the sea and the rooftops.
Explore Ancient Sites
Santorini has a deep history. Visit the ancient city of Akrotiri (sometimes called the “Greek Pompeii”) or climb up to Ancient Thira right above Kamari for panoramic views.
Taste Local Wine
The island is also known for its wineries and volcanic soil. You can visit local vineyards and taste Assyrtiko wines with a view.
Take a Boat Tour
From the port, you can take a boat trip to the volcano, swim in hot springs, or sail around the island for a completely different perspective.
Relax at the Beach
Besides Kamari, you can also visit other beaches like Perissa, Red Beach, and Vlychada — each with its own unique character.
Start in Kamari
Kamari is a friendly beach village on the southeast coast of Santorini. It’s relaxed and comfortable, with a nice mix of locals and visitors. You’ll find everything you need within walking distance — the black-sand beach, shops, restaurants, bakeries, bars, and the bus stop that connects you to the rest of the island.
It’s less crowded than places like Fira or Oia, and staying here means you can enjoy quiet evenings, easy beach access, and local hospitality — without giving up the option to explore.
We think Kamari is one of the best places to stay on the island if you want a good mix of calm and convenience.
